We started this unit developing our observational drawing skills. One approach we used was contour drawing, a very slow and precise method. We studied the work of the Pop artists and considered what if Andy Warhol was alive today? Would he still be painting soup cans? Below are some of our ideas of what Warhol would paint in the 21st century. Finally inspired by Claes Oldenberg and his amazing sculptures we experimented with scale and proportion to create larger than life pastel drawings of everyday objects.
